Dubai has been a calendar fixture since Season 3, and while the wind gods haven't exactly blessed it, certain other factors – let's call them commercial considerations of a petroleum-adjacent nature – have ensured its continued presence.

Dubai is slow, tactical, and demands a completely different skill set, which certainly suits some teams. For the past two seasons, New Zealand have made the venue their own, winning back-to-back events with patient, composed sailing. Combined with Abu Dhabi, it carries late-season weight, forming a two-event stretch where light-air proficiency could make or break championship bids.

For travelling fans, November offers warm weather and plenty of night-time cultural events. Just don't expect fireworks on the racecourse.

Past winners: Australia (Season 3), New Zealand (Seasons 4 + 5)
