We're streaming the 49er, 49erFX and Nacra 17 World Championships from Friday to Sunday on The Foil YouTube channel. Today's stream starts at 10:00 local / 09:00 UK, with the first race five minutes later.

What happened yesterday

Day 3 in Quiberon was, by most accounts, one for the ages. Big wind, lumpy waves and a savage current made the bay virtually unmanageable – at one point the 49er fleet couldn't even bear away at the windward mark, piling past it upwind while crews waited for a gap that might never come. Sailing Energy photographer Jesús Renedo, fifteen years on the skiff circuit, had "never seen anything like today."

The standings going into Day 4

In the 49er, Austrians Keanu Prettner and Jakob Flachberger lead into Gold Fleet, one point clear of China's Zaiding Wen and Tian Liu. Watch out for Seb Menzies in fourth – the 21-year-old steps into an AC40 with Emirates Team New Zealand in Sardinia next week, so a strong result here would be quite the warm-up act.

In the 49erFX, Britain's Freya Black and Saskia Tidey lead, with Denmark's Schmidt sisters and Germany's Barth and Kohlhoff close behind.

The Nacra 17 is the one to watch for British fans: reigning world champions John Gimson and Anna Burnet hold an eight-point lead, with Italy's Ugolini and Giubilei second and French local Tim Mourniac third on home waters.
