No practice racing in New York for SailGP
Jason Ludlow/SailGP
There will be no practice racing today (Friday) ahead of the New York SailGP. With no weather anomalies, this looks to be due to logistical restrictions, as far as we understand it.
Looking at the Automatic Identification System (AIS) shipping data, the Queen Mary 2 ocean liner is stationed at the SailGP tech site in Brooklyn. It arrived at 02:59 local time on Friday 29 May.
We’ve been informed that there may be an extended warm up period before racing on Saturday.
We’ll keep you updated as we learn more.
